7/30

After plenty of bus beers and beach beers and beers, I woke up and got ready for our visit to the nuclear power plant. It was super cool to see the ins and outs of it and we learned a lot. It was not your quintessential power plant with the giant steam stacks, but it was a cogeneration plant, where they used the waste steam to generate even more electricity. I thought this was pretty cool and smart.

Simulation Control Room where the employees get trained.

Our visit took up most of the morning, and we were on the road back to Sao Paolo by noon. We did not get home until around 12:00-1:00 in the morning. I spent most of my time on the bus reading The Café at the Edge of the World, which is super insightful and thought-provoking. My Mimi lent me the book a few months back, and I am over halfway done with it now. After it got dark, I threw my air pods in and listened to some music before I fell asleep.
