Hello and welcome back. Again, I am very sorry to my readers about my lack of discipline for posting on time. I’m going to be better, I promise!
Picking up on the morning of the
13, we went to the Liberdade Street Market, which is a big Japanese and cultural/ethnic street market, like Paulista
Ave. There was many shops that were open, along with cultural restaurants. We
walked around for a while, checking out different lunch options before settling
for an Indian spot, where I had some chicken tikka masala. Very good stuff.
I did not take this picture |
After our time at Liberdade, we
headed back to the hostel where we met the Brazilian students! It was great to
finally put faces to names. We spent a few hours working on our project and
getting organized. After 5:00, we stopped work and all hung out for a little
bit, before grabbing a quick dinner at the bakery up the road. Two of the
Brazilian students, Giovanna and Emerson, joined us and came out with us. I was
exhausted from the night before, so I took an hour-and-a-half nap before waking
up for karaoke.
Long story short, we ended up not
being able to get into the karaoke club, as the line was very long. After about
an hour of standing in line and not moving, we pivoted to another club called
Amata. This line was also very long, so we pivoted a third time back to Alto.
On the walk there, Emerson and I hit it off immediately and I realized that he was a Bobcat.
There is not many of us. He knows how to have a good time and is also very down-to-earth and an interesting human. He put me on the Brazilian sidewalk slammer.
We got tuned and had a night.
Two Bobcats in their natural environment. Also, Emerson is not that short, I am standing on the sidewalk and he is not. |
From there, we stayed at Alto for
a few hours with everyone and did some networking on the roof with a bunch of young
professionals which was pretty cool. Everyone was interesting to talk to. In
the wee hours of the morning, we left, and I got a street burger that was
unreal, and headed to bed.
This is my favorite post so far. Dad and I were wondering about Emerson's height, so thanks for clearing that up. A fellow Bobcat 😂
