Hello and welcome back to the Brent Bible! I’ll pick up where we left off – we went out to a sports bar with live music at the corner of an adjacent street called Praça A. There, we had some drinks and watched Argentina versus Ecuador in the Copa. Argentina won in penalty kicks. From there, we headed home and went straight to bed to get ready for class this morning.

In class, we dove deeper into consumption and material balances and then learned about the different types of energy in energy systems. After class wrapped up, we headed back to the hostel to grab some lunch. After lunch, we hung out for a little bit, got tickets for a soccer game, and then made some progress on the homework. At 2:00, we went to the University of Sao Paolo to learn about photovoltaic (PV) panels. We sat in a presentation and then took a tour of their outdoor lab for PV panels. We went super in-depth and learned a lot of the ins and outs of how the panels work. Check out this picture below!

On our way out, we saw some capybaras. For those who don’t know, they are these giant rodents that were an internet meme a few years ago, so we had to stop and see them.

From there, we headed back to the hostel and grabbed some dinner. We went to a burger joint at the end of our block to watch the remainder of the Portugal and France game – France won in PK’s!

Now, I just finished up the homework and am writing this blog. Tonight, we are hitting the bars again! I’ll be posting around the same time tomorrow, so stay tuned!
