7/9

Good evening, thank you for tapping into the Brent Bible once again! Today started off with Portuguese class, where we learned how to get by with some basic phrases, which will definitely help out. After that, Dr. P and Conne took Morgan, Alek, and I out to lunch. We got some great eats and traditional, northern Brazilian food. I tried cashew juice for the first time, and it was gas.

#lunch

After our lunch, we headed back to the classroom and picked up where we left off in our Energy Systems class. We dove deep into fossil fuels, how they were created, how they are refined and used, and their individual impacts on the environment. After class, we went and dropped our bags off at the hostel and took the subway to the Portuguese Language Museum. Unfortunately, everything was in Portuguese. Which, looking back on it, makes a whole lot of sense. I did my best to make the most of it and learned about the origins of Portuguese.

Outside the Museum

After the museum, we took the subway back and grabbed some dinner at a nearby ramen spot. The food was unreal, and I discovered that I have a new favorite cocktail. It was so good I ordered another. I got a rice dish, with steak on top, and a layer of caramelized onions and sauce underneath. The drink I got was called “Sour and Sweet Smoked” and was a whiskey-scotch blend with a gingery and citrusy taste to it. I looked it up, and this seemed pretty similar: Sour and Sweet Smoked Drink.

After dinner, I headed back and completed the homework. I completed the puzzle. Now I am writing this blog and then going to sleep. Stay tuned for another update tomorrow!
