 Welcome back to the Brent Bible! Last night was another good night. We went to a nearby bar to watch the Brazil – Uruguay quarterfinal game. We got some good drinks – I had my first negroni of the trip. It was different from the negronis I typically make – this one was not as strong. Still very good though. After Brazil unfortunately lost, we went to another bar and returned to the hostel.

This morning I had a quick breakfast before we took the subway to Avenida Paulista, which was set up with a bunch of kiosks, dancing, music, and food. I got some street meat, which was unreal, and then we went to a nearby buffet for some more good eats. After walking around the avenue for a few more hours, we got on our bus and headed to the soccer game. The atmosphere was absolutely electric.

I got a jersey, had a beer, and went into the stadium. It was easily the best sports event that I have ever been to. The stadium was packed, everyone was on their feet, singing, chanting, and simply super into the game.

Palmerias (the home team) beat Bahia 2-0! From there, we went to a nearby buffet up the street from our hostel for a quick meal. After we ate, I went home and gave my family a ring. Stay tuned for tomorrow's post!
