7/2 - 7/3 - Day 1

Hello and welcome to the second entry of the Brent Bible! Last night, (7/2) I left home in Rochester, NY, and met up with the group in Washington DC. From there, we made the 10-hour flight to Sao Paulo, Brazil (morning of 7/3). Upon arrival and clearing customs, we made the trip to the hostel. The drive from the airport was about an hour long and very scenic. It was cool looking out the window and taking it all in before I dozed off for the last half hour of the bus ride.

Upon arrival at the hostel, we took a little bit to unpack. From there, I talked with a bunch of the other people on the dialogue and played a little bit of soccer on the front patio with a few of the guys before we got a late lunch at a buffet. I got coffee, feijoada, beans, chicken, and some vegetables. Everything was great. Then we went to orientation to get more familiar with safety guidelines and to get to know each other a little bit better. After that, we went to the grocery store. This was my first international grocery experience, and Tauan helped me out a little bit (told me what beers to buy). Other than beer, I kept it simple and got some sandwich stuff, snacks, and bananas. The picture is of our group headed back from the grocery store. Jani is the man and carried the beer I got.

Currently, we are getting ready to head out to a Brazilian Steakhouse for dinner, which I am excited for. Stay tuned for another update tomorrow!

  2. Have fun, stay safe. So excited for you that you are going to Iguazu Falls. On my bucket list too but don't think I'll make it there. You liked waterfalls when you were little. We went to Niagara Falls for your birthday!
