7/11

Good morning! Welcome back to another entry to the Brent Bible! I am writing this the morning after- the Wi-Fi at our Hostel is not the best, and I was unable to upload. Busy day yesterday with class and other activities, so strap in.

Yesterday started off with class, where we learned a little more about Processes with Recycle, Bypass, and Purge, as well as some Stoichiometry. In our Energy Systems class, we talked about Biogas and Ethanol. After class, I went and grabbed lunch at the nearby Bakery and Café with a few others. Good meal, and I had my first Brazilian Coke. Not a big soda guy at all, but I tried it for the one time, and it was banging.

After lunch, we got a bus to Crea-SP headquarters, which is the Regional Council of Engineering and Architecture in Brazil. It is kind of similar to the American Society of Civil Engineers (but for all engineering disciplines). We visited the Sao Paolo chapter, which is what the SP stands for. Their presentation covered what Crea is, how it works, and what they are doing to ensure sustainability. After the presentation, we all received certificates of completion for the workshop, and they asked me for an interview on what I thought of the presentation for their Instagram. Unfortunately, I did not make the cut for their Instagram reel, but Dr. Pfluger did!

After that, a good chunk of us went to a local park to play some soccer. It was different playing on concrete, but we had a good time. Afterward, Mateo and I made some dinner. I cooked up some chicken and sauce, while he made the pasta. Shoutout Morgan for the mushrooms.

After we ate, a few of us went to hot yoga. I have done hot yoga in Boston once with a couple friends and enjoyed it, but this experience was next level. The one in Boston was faster-paced and more fluent from position to position, and this one was slower, and each position started from the same base position. I definitely liked the one I did last night more, as the positions were harder and felt more strenuous.

After yoga, we came back and hung out for a little bit, while I tried to write my blog on dookie Wi-Fi, until I decided it was time for bed. Expect another blog later this evening
